By the 1180s, He organized a group of loyal retainers and conquored many of the tribes. He continued to strenghthen his army until he became the leader of the Mongols. By the thime he vanquished his last opponent, the Mongol nobility granted him the title "Genghis Khan", meaning "Oceanic Ruler", or "Great Ruler". Genghis Khan continued to extend his empire and started to trade with Northern China, Central Asia and Middle East. He also set the stage fro increasing travelling across Eurasia, encouraged Europeans to come to China. He paved the way for a peaceful era which enhanced both religious an cultural development throughout the empire. Part of the cultural heritage created from this period was the development of the "Mongolian Grill" as a cuisine form.
